Issue | Thailand From being featured in the pages of L’Officiel Paris and Teen Vogue to getting screen time on American’s Next Top Model (Cycle 6), the brand Issue has developed a global following that just keeps getting bigger. At the centre of the brand exists a deep spirituality that belies the brand’s fun and youthful persona. Issue’s brand philosophy revolves around the wisdom of the Dalai Lama – “Never give up, no matter what happens.” Thai designer Roj Singhakul strongly believes in the existence of good and bad karma and the human ability to equilibrate self-perception. Roj graduated from Thai Vichitsin College (Fine Arts) and founded the brand Issue in 1999. It is the designer’s passion for traveling that enables him to infuse cultural inspirations from around the world into his creations. This season’s collection evokes a youthful, nomadic spirit that is seen in the innovative use of vibrant tribal prints and a bright colour palette. Oversized clutches and bucket bags call to mind cross-border treks while jaunty dresses with flyaway bows beg for a road trip down Route 66.
